Chemistry Matter and Change - Chapter Six

Chemistry Matter and Change - Chapter SixIn Chemistry Matter and Change chapter six I went into much more detail on what it is that I am talking about. So read on, this is going to be an even better read than the last one! Okay, so in this chapter we will examine how the concept of Matter is applied to change and how it relates to all the things we do with it.Now if you remember from the last few chapters, I explained how changes come from molecular and atomic forces. Now I will go into some of the more common types of changes. We are going to look at what we refer to as atomic, molecular, and molecular force, and then how that relates to how we use the properties of matter to affect these forces and how we call them. You have heard about atoms before and we talked about them a little bit earlier in this chapter, but now we are going to take a look at molecules and why they are the most common type of element that we can create. The reason for this is because molecules are so importan t in the chemical reactions that occur with them. There are also going to discuss what happens when you have more than one molecule present, or when a molecule breaks down. It is also important to remember that changing the density of molecules also has an effect on the way they interact with one another. Now that we have looked at the atom's a little bit, it's time to take a look at atoms and bonds. Now atoms are groups of positively charged particles that have an electrical charge, either positively or negatively. When two opposite charged particles meet and get close to each other, they join together. As this occurs, the electrons in both ends of the atom begin to get closer together and this is going to break the bonds between the two particles. If one ends of the atom has not been broken, then the bonding process occurs at that point. Once the atoms are joined, they are able to have some type of movement, but only very little. This is going to depend on the type of bond that they are creating as well as the type of material that is being used in the bond formation.Bonding is used to help with how things change and how they go from one state to another. For example, the molecule of chlorine has a hydrogen atom attached to it. Now the hydrogen and carbon atoms have different types of bonding, which is known as ionic bonding. This is the most commonly used type of bonding, and for some reason chlorine is considered to be the best example of the type of bonding that occurs. Now for atoms that are actually broken down or have bonds, the bonding process is completely different. When the molecules of an element are broken down, the individual atoms are going to form bonds to one another. It is this type of bonding that allows different elements to be able to live together in different types of environments. For example, gold can survive in the atmosphere at different temperatures and has the ability to absorb water, which allows it to grow and stay alive at a specif ic temperature. That means that the properties of gold are going to change depending on the conditions that it is found in. When it comes to atoms and bonds, the factors that allow something to grow, stay alive, and make bonds can be very unique.
